How do I use your services and what are the procedures?
The following steps are a guideline to our procedures.
1. Request a quotation
To request a quotation, just send us an email. If you have an existing CV please attach it, or include a list of your past employment with as much information as possible. Email us at editor@cvwriters.co.za
2. Receive a quotation from CV Writers
You will receive our quotation and further relevant information.
3. Accept our quotation
If you would like to proceed, email us back, accepting our quotation and confirming that you wish to proceed with your order.
4. Make payment as per quotation
Your payment for our services can be made via EFT or bank deposit (banking information will be sent with your quotation). Payment is in advance.
5. Acknowledgement of payment
We will confirm receipt of your payment within 12 hours of receipt and will commence work on your new CV. Please allow time for bank processing, usually 1 to 3 days.
6. Your CV Writer will contact you
Your Writer will make contact with you and keep you posted as regards progress. If your Writer needs more information, they will request this from you. This communication will predominantly take place via email but via phone/Skype if necessary.
7. Your CV and free Cover Letter will be sent to you
The first draft of your new CV will be sent to you within 5 to 7 working days together with your free Cover Letter. If you have more urgent requirements, please let us know, and we will do our best to assist you.
8. Changes and Amendments
Your Writer will be available to make any changes/amendments that you may require for a period of 14 days after you have received your CV from us.
How do you price your CV's?
We are committed to providing exceptional quality at affordable prices so our rates are very competitive. Pricing is determined by the number of years a person has worked as well as the complexity of their occupation. For example, a CV for a medical doctor with 20 years of experience will cost more than a CV for a recent medical graduate. Please contact us for a quote.

No, pricing is always determined by the number of years a person has worked.
How do I make payment for your CV Writing service?
Payment can be made via EFT or bank deposit (banking information will be sent with your quote).
How soon will I receive my CV?
Our turnaround time is typically 5 to 7 days. If you need your CV urgently, please let us know and we will make every effort to assist you.

What is a speculative cover letter?
This is a general covering letter that can accompany your CV when you approach companies to enquire if they have any suitable openings. Usually, it will outline your main skills and one or two key achievements and emphasize your interest in the company concerned.
Where are you based? Do I need to come to your offices?
We are based in Johannesburg but there is no need for you to come to us. We work primarily via email and phone.
What is the best way to communicate with your company?
We find email to be the most effective form of communication but, if you need to speak to us, you are welcome to call on 072 335 0870.
How long is an ideal CV?
It depends on your occupation but in general, it is recommended that CV's are 1 to 3 pages long. Two pages is the ideal. Because of the need to be relatively brief the content is crucial to a successful CV.
What format do you use?
All documents are delivered via email in an editable Word document format.
Can you put colours, charts, graphics or different fonts into my CV?
Generally, unless you are in a very creative profession, it is not recommended that CV's contain different fonts and colours, logos or graphics. South African recruiters have shown a marked preference for straightforward, black and white CV's that are not too long or 'busy' and contain only essential information. Sometimes two colours may be used but never more. The most professional looking CV's use black text and a simple font such as Arial or similar (Tahoma or Calibri).
Can I send you my photo to include in my CV?
It is no longer necessary to include a photo in a CV unless a company specifically requests one. It is considered old-fashioned and unnecessary to have a photo on a CV.
Why don't you include all my personal information on a CV?
In terms of current legislation and business practice, it is inadvisable and no longer necessary to include too much personal information such as gender, race, marital status, number of children etc. Any relevant personal information can be discussed at the interview stage.
What if I’m not satisfied with my new CV?
Quality and excellent client service are our top priorities. Your Writer/Consultant will be in constant communication with you via email. He or she will revise your CV until you are satisfied (within a period of 14 days from your receipt of the initial draft).
